- Here's an example of the masculine "his" being used in reference to plants. It calls into question the assumption that God is a male solely based upon the use of the pronoun "he" in Genesis 1:5.

Genesis 1:12
And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
