Genesis 3:4

And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die:

1. The serpent told Eve that she would not surely die if she ate fruit from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.
2. The serpent asserted that God was either mistaken or a liar.
3. In retrospect, we know that Eve died, so evidently the serpent was either mistaken or a liar.
