Genesis 9:15

And I will remember my covenant, which is between me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh.

1. Seeing the rainbow reminds the Lord of His covenant with us to no more destroy all living creatures on the earth with a flood.
2. The tokens of covenants are useful reminders of our obligations.
