Genesis 9:12

And God said, This is the token of the covenant which I make between me and you and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

1. When God makes a covenant with mankind He may provide a token (sign or symbol) of it as well.
2. God included a token with this covenant.
3. This covenant applied to all subsequent generations of all living creatures that were then on the earth.
